Raising children is one of the most difficult and rewarding jobs in the world – and one for which you might feel least prepared.
Here are nine tips on raising children that can help you feel more fulfilled as a parent.
1- Build your child’s self-esteem
Children begin to develop their identity as babies when they see themselves through the eyes of their parents. Your tone of voice, your body language and your every expression are absorbed by your children. Your words and actions as a parent affect the development of their self-esteem more than anything else.
Praise even small achievements will make them proud; letting children do things independently will make them capable and strong. On the other hand, disparaging comments or comparing one child unfavorably to another will make children feel worthless.
Avoid making heavy statements or using words like weapons. Comments like “What a stupid thing to do!” Or “You act more like a baby than your little brother!” »Cause damage just as physical blows do.
Choose your words carefully and be compassionate. Let your kids know that everyone makes mistakes and that you still love them, even if you don’t like their behavior.
