Ryanair is one of the best airlines in europe. The Ryanair Baggage Policy consists of cabin baggage, checked baggage, excess baggage, sporting equipment and baggage limitations. Information regarding Overweight baggage and charges is also included.

Ryanair Cabin Baggage Policy:

Ryanair cabin baggage policy is different for those who have purchased “Priority & 2 cabin bags or a Plus/Flexi ticket” and those who have not. This is classified as Priority and Non-priority.


Passengers who have purchased priority or plus/flexi ticket can bring one small bag which could be handbag, laptop bag etc with the size limitations of  35cm x 20cm x 20cm and one cabin bag, with size limitations of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm weight limitations of 10kg.

People without priority or plus/flexi ticket can bring one small bag on board. The size limitations of it will be 35cm x 20cm x 20cm. If you wish to brought a second cabin bag, it should be of size limitations of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. It will be placed on the aircraft hold without any charges.

If your cabin baggage is oversized, it will be refused at the boarding gate, or where available, placed in the hold of the aircraft for a fee of £50/€50 (fee subject to VAT on domestic flights at applicable government rates).

Priority cost at the time of the initial flight booking is €5. If added through ryanair online website or ryanair app it will be €6.

Ryanair Checked Baggage Policy:

Ryanair checked baggage policy allows each passenger to purchase up to 3 checked bags of 20 kilos.

These can be purchased up to 2 hours before the scheduled flight departure time.If checked bags are purchased after initial booking via My Booking, a Ryanair call centre or airport ticket desk then the baggage fee of €40 per person/per one way flight applies . During peak travel periods (Christmas/Easter/Summer) and on selected routes, the fee for a checked bag will be €35/£35 per person, per one way flight.

The ryanair also allows the pooling or sharing of purchased checked baggage allowances with others included on the same flight reservation when checking in together.

Ryanair charges passenger exceeding their personal checked baggage allowance for excess baggage at the rate prevailing on the day of travel. This is currently £11/€11 per kilo (or local currency equivalent). Check this for details about baggage
